The Old Burying Point
The city’s oldest cemetery, dating back to 1637, is the final resting place of Salem’s earliest residents. Some of whom will make their presence known in the form of orbs and ghostly figures that are often seen drifting through the night, with eerie reports dating all the way back to its founding.

The Grimshawe House
A house that has watched over the dead for two centuries. The gabled house pressed right up against the graveyard wall was the home of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s wife, Sophia Peabody. The home is the setting for his gothic novel, Dr. Grimshawe’s Secret.

The Pickman House
A 356-year-old house stands next to the Witch Trial Memorial and the Charter Street Cemetery, where the restless spirit of a young girl is said to haunt the attic, forever tied to the chilling history of this location. Discover what led to her tragic passing.
Essex Street
Rockafellas
This site once held the first four versions of the First Church of Salem. The current building, now owned by Rockafellas, was completed in 1826. The church held services on the second floor, while the first floor was rented out to local businesses, including the Daniel Low Company. Like many of Salem’s historic buildings, this 200-year-old structure has some spiritual residents. A grumpy minister in a black suit and a Lady in a blue dress. Join us as we uncover the legends of these two ghostly residents and hear the stories reported by employees and patrons.
St. Peter St.
St. Peters Church
An accused witch, defying the Puritan church, donated his land to the Church of England. The twist? This current structure was built on top of an old graveyard. Join us as we dive into the church’s history and what really happened to the interned residents.

The Old Salem Jail
The Salem Jail was one of the oldest continuously operating prisons in the U.S. Built during the War of 1812, it endured for 179 years before closing its doors in 1991 due to inhumane conditions. This chilling prison has a long list of murders, suicides and public executions. With no electricity, the eerie glow of the moon was all that lit the cells at night. It is said that those who worked the night shift were haunted the most. Join us as we discuss the prison’s haunted legacy, where time stopped for those who never walked free.

The Howard Street Cemetery
Next to the Old Salem Jail is the Howard St. Cemetery. Those interned here were Revolutionary War soldiers, sea captains, and first mates. But it is also said to be haunted by one of the most brutal executions that happened during the Salem Witch Trials.

Turners Sea Food
The Old Lyceum Hall, constructed nearly 200 years ago on the land once owned by Salem’s first executed witch trial victim, now serves as a seafood restaurant. While the walls remain silent, the cash register has been known to speak. Paranormal investigators were stunned when a message mysteriously appeared on the receipt printer.

Is this tour kid-friendly?
No — the Bloodbath is adults only (18+). The stories are grim and told honestly. If you’re bringing younger visitors, book our all-ages 1692 Salem Historical Tour instead.

We meet at Botanica of Salem, 272 Essex Street, Salem, MA 01970. Please arrive 10 minutes early so we can start on time. It’s a walking tour — wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.
